How to assess the quality of your Moringa

The Moringa Tree is known to be resilient plant. It grows fast, it doesn’t need much water and it is nutritious. However, the leaves of this plant are tiny and with being tiny, harvesting and processing large quantities at a premium grade quality can be challenging. Add Organic Farming to the mix, and that will make it a higher mountain to climb.

So, if you are looking to purchase good quality, green and nutritious Moringa here is what we recommend you look out for:

  1. First and foremost, certified Organic Moringa is what you want. This ensures high quality measures are being followed from soil to the process. Nutrient dense soil = nutrient dense produce.

  2. Next, the colour usually gives away how oxidised the product is. You want your moringa to be green! Popping green, not dark green. Again, this will mean the product is full of nutrients and it has not been stripped off during the drying process.

  3. Mould content, bacteria, heavy metals and more has to be in check. You want to know that whoever you are getting your moringa from is ensuring the product has been through rigorous lab testing with proven results.

At Zaamroot we are pretty obsessive about all these elements. Water, soil, harvesting, washing, drying, processing. All are done with care. It takes a lot of time to get there, but we do our best to give our clients the best.
